So recently I have really been enjoying putting my foot in the door with newborn photography. I truely love it and its something I wouldn't mind doing more of. But I started thinking about newborn mulitples (aka twins, triplets, and more). How I would handle it, etc. So I decided to put out a casting call to try my hand at photographing newborn multiples. The first person to book a session for each one (twins, triplets, etc) gets a really good deal.
It will be my way of learning what all is involved when photographing more than one newborn at a time. I'm totally a hands on type person when it comes to learning things. So on to my question...have any of you photographed newborn multiples? How did it go? I have so many thoughts running around in my mind. I have heard, of course, that the session will take way longer. But other than that, I have not found many tips on the subject. Do you have a certain way, or certain plan that you follow? Like, doing individual shots first, then trying to get shots of them together. Would an assistant be helpful? Or just plan on the parents helping out? I know many multiples are born early, spending time in NICU, etc. Do you still do newborn photos for them when they arrive home? Even if they are many many weeks (or even months) old? And so forth. Multiples are definitely special circumstances, so I didn't know what the rule of thumb is. Any input on the subject would be greatly appreciated. I have my first newborn twins scheduled for next month from the casting call, so I'm super excited. Thanks again everyone!
