Just trying to explore the wonderful world of DSRLs and how to become a better spare time photographer. One thing I have been wondering lately is that what are the basic setting to start from when I'm shooting my child from close range in low light (inside). Especially, should I use continues focus or single focus while my target is always moving unexpectedly or should I just compensate the possible movement away from focus point by shallower depth of field?
Is there an existing thread/tutorials that I should check?

continous focus (and a flash) should be enough to freeze movement
