Hello,
I'm shooting three or four different small group photos tomorrow for my alumni magazine's story on how people are giving their time and talent to various community service initiatives. Unfortunately, I need to shoot them all in the same commons area, so I was wondering if you all could provide some different ideas for posing them. The smallest group is two people, and the largest is five. The difficult thing here is that everything needs to be verticals, though for at least one of the shots I'm going to try to convince them to run a horizontal across two pages, taking up 3/4 of the page height wise, and put the story in the remaining 1/4. One of the groups I'm shooting is part of a letter writing campaign for St. Jude's, so I thought it would be neat to photograph them in a silhouette, since the people they help really don't get to see their face ... I thought that would create some interesting visual tension for the story. Any thoughts or samples of small group photos I could look at for ideas? Thanks!
