Default Photo Lines

Hello DPS ~ I need your help

I am very new at photography and my second most important job asked if I had experience with Photo Lines. Please help me understand if I have this correct, could it be placing people in the correct order when taking a studio like portrait?

Info about the gig-

It's a political event with someone giving a speech and alot of hand shaking going on. So I will be doing candid shots and I guess a line up shot. I wanted to be clear of what the client is asking for (photo lines) before I commit with only my thinking alone.

Do yourself a favour: Ask. Ask the client what they're referring to.

I'd second that. There's nothing worse than misunderstood jargon. We could guess what "photo lines" means but, while it might seem embarrassing to ask the person who used the phrase, it would be worse to turn up expecting something entirely different from what they meant.

Also, don't forget, while it may be something you don't know but, equally, it could be something they have half-heard and half-understood and you might be able to give them a better way of describing what they want without sounding stupid. Working in IT, I've found plenty of clever, educated people who say things that would leave a room full of geeks guffawing because it is a technical phrase used inadvertantly in the wrong context.
