You're making great use of the shallow DOF with your 50mm. Again, I love the color processing. Mind telling us what you did to achieve that?

Cute smile, nice catchlights, and I really like how you framed this.

You'll find that this area of the DPS forums moves quite a bit more slowly than the critiques section, and you'll often get more specific comments on the aspects of the photo specific to portraiture. Welcome.

I used lightroom to add a vignette and also desaturate the colors a bit. Also added a sepia filter and just tweaked the shadows and the green hues a bit. For some reason this got rid of the blue eyes completely, which i am currently trying to fix.

Thanks for the info. It's a shame about getting rid of her blue eyes, but you could just do the whole thing on a layer or two then mask out the effects for the eyes? Again, nice work.

That's very helpful to see the before and after. You made a significant improvement to the photo and gave it a very different feel than the original. It's nice to see a variety of effects applied well. Thanks for posting the original.
