Default Groups yes - 1-2 men, no.

I've gone on one photowalk and had a good time. I'd love to do another, but I find it's hard to get more than 1 or 2 others. I woudn't mind that either, except in today's crazyiness, I'm concerned about my safety as a woman. I had to cancel a walk recently - set it up with 2 guys I hadn't met and one guy I already knew from previously. The guy I knew cancelled, and I just wasn't comfortable going into the woods alone with 2 strange men.

I was sad. I really wanted to go. I wanted to trust, but I received much concern and reprimands from other women about attempting it. I also knew my husband (whom I am happily married to!) would be concerned for my safety (enough that I didn't want to mention it to him).

So... alas, no recent photowalks, and I am busy on Kelby's photowalk day, so I'm pretty sad. I do a lot of walks solo and I enjoy them, but it would be nice to be joined by a few other hobbyists to chat with and bounce ideas/tips off of....

been there, done that.... I am very shy and it is very hard in the beggining, but there's always someone who does the talking.... I started going on photowalks with people I found on Flickr. Some I already know, but there's always someone new (last weekend everyone was new to me and it was great fun).

I've signed up for two worldwide photo walks in July - one in the morning and one in the evening here in Sarasota. One out on the river - the other downtown. As luck would have it the person leading the river walk is someone I used to work with - but I would have signed up anyway.

I personally would want to have at least talked with the person, or people in question. Obviously, either way I'd be a bit on-edge, though I assume it could be a fun learning experience.
