I think you did a good job. The skin tones seem a bit off, a bit too orange. Also I think the photo could use a better crop in vertical portrait orientation. I did a real quick edit but I'm not as good as some of the others on here. Just wanted to show you what I was thinking.

Since it is plain and white, you should be able to set the white balance using the background before you invite your model to sit down. That would give a more natural result.
My other comment is that her nose gets a little bit lost. You don't want to emphasise the nose too much but, if your wife is willing to sit a little bit longer, it would be worth experimenting with the lighting (adjusting the positioning and perhaps using a reflector) to see how that changes the modelling on the face. Yes. That is what WB is for: adjusting the camera to compensate for different light conditions.

Way too yellow/orange, with a touch of green. What was your WB set to?

Pulled up the photo in CS3 and went into color balance here's what I had to do:
Cyan -60 Magenta -6 Blue +54. But this is corrected for my screen.

Weird............I uploaded and got lines through photo..anyways........I tried to adjust for color.
