Red face Close up Portrait of my Girl.

Could you please tell me about the crop. I like to crop close to her eyes but I decided to pull back to include her nose and mouth. What you think? If you want to crop a close up of an eye, What do you include? Eyebrows and eye only? Thanks.

Just my opinion, but I think this crop is too "in between" - not a portrait, but not really a close up, either, And because of this, that cute face looks crammed into the frame for no real reason.

I like your idea about cropping down so that the eyes are the main subject. How about cropping the bottom just above the tip of her nose? That would get her eyes just above the middle of the frame.

I'd be happy to hear others' views on this.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, how did you get her eyes to turn out like that? Very cool effect.

Chip thanks for the feedback. I was thinking about cropping like you suggested but it felt I was missing something. I will crop and play around to see. The eyes were not touched at all. That is the reflection of me taking the photo. I know. This is the reason I like the picture so much because of the reflection. I used my SB-600 with diffuser facing the back wall. Thanks again.

I think I would like to see more of her face, but doesn't take away from the fact that she's adorable. Love the eyes.

Default crop

i like tight crop shot but i normally go a bit to one side about 30 deg off centre make sure you have both eyes in shot or one only 105 f2.8 great for this.i like the reflections in the eye.pic a bit grainy use lowest iso only for this you need detail.
