Default First Photo Shoot EVER! PLEASE HELP!

Like many others, I got my first DSLR this holiday season. I'm in love! I had a friend ask me to take pregnancy pics of her and of course I said I would! I did tons of research weeks in advance as to what poses, lighting, and props I should use. Everyone seems to love them, but I was hoping to get advice and critiques from those of you who know a little more about photography. Thank you!

The pose looks good, try cropping some of the right side off just a little so that she isn't so centered in the image.

Without knowing the EXIF data and what lighting you used it's hard to tell why the image is so overexposed. The image loses details in her shirt and a little on the stomach. List the EXIF and we can give a few more suggestions.

Ditto on this and I'll add watch the background.....the couch is distracting. Great first try though!

I agree. The image is a little blown out from being overexposed. But, that being said, it's a great shot!

The pose looked nice at first but when I enlarged it her hand is coming out of a black hole. Try to keep detail in your lights and darks. Certainly better than my first try!
