Default candid portrait at the airport

taken in the airport on my way to Stockholm for my holiday last week then converted to black and white at home in PP.
I've warmed the tone up a little bit and would appreciate any opinions on the colour as this is the first time i've tried doing this to make a b&w shot a little less stark and uncomprimising. Of course any other comments are also welcome

george asleep b&w

EXIF info
Exposure: 1/30
Aperture: f/2.2
Focal Length: 35mm
ISO Speed: 720
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Exposure Mode: Aperture priority
White Balance: manual

many thanks, Neil

I love this shot. Its a story in an image and the composition could not get better.

I love this shot! I agree that it tells a story without any explaination. The tones are wonderful and I even love the space on the left with people walking by. Great composition!

thanks!
There was another almost identical shot with the space on the left empty but I thought that the passers by added rather than took away from the composition so I decided to go with that one.

Neil - excellent shot. Great story telling. Definitely an advantage with the people in the image.

Only 2 small things I can see that I would try to adjust. There is a small spot just under her left hand that I would take out. The other may have been due to the B/W conversion, her hat is almost lost into the tiling on the floor. Maybe burning the hat back in just a little in Photoshop would give a little more depth in the middle of the image.

i really like it, to me it's a lot like a good abstract painting, everyone can paint lines on canvas, but only a few can do it well with emotion, purpose and a story, it's often simple, but convey the right message.

I always appreciate a good eye for composition, I'm in a bit of a rut right now, so good for you

Wow... That's a really great shot! I especially like the slight blur on the passersby. It really speaks to how "out" she is. Fantastic!
