Default Parents

Would like to know what any you think of this photo and if you have any advise as how to get them both in focus better. Mom doesn't seem to be as sharp as Dad. It was a really really cold day here in the South, the sun was bright but I had a hard time getting sharp photos.
Thanks

I'd say it was your camera settings.

Why would you shoot "Exposure Program: Shutter speed priority AE" on a bright sunny day, and then set your shutter at 1/30? It maxed out your aperture.

Agreed with Wood, bright sunny day would seem to dictate a faster ss.

I would also say the leaves on the back side of mom's head are distracting. It may not have been possible but a more diffused light would have made for a more pleasing light.

Thanks for your replies. I'm wasn't even sure what settings the camera was on to be honest. My family was at a funeral of a beloved family member and I was asked to take some photos of the flowers. Just happened to see my parents and took the photo above. Don't even think I looked at the camera before I started taking pictures. Imagine my shock when I got home and thought the photo of my parents was one of the best I have ever taken. Maybe I should just be happy with the emotions and love I see and not worry about the focus so much. But I did want some advise to be prepared (with the camera) next time I was taking pictures on that type of day. Thanks again.

PS: I know I will not be able to print the photo that even looks this good. I had to sharpen to get it that clear and Wal Mart (only place around my home) will not print it any where near as good.
