Depending on the concert venue, sometimes a monopod is allowed. You can always call ahead to find out.

You might get sharper results if you zoomed out a bit. Generally speaking, you can get away with a lower shutter speed at a shorter focal length although, to be honest, you will probably need to get above 1/20s. I wouldn't be surprised if f/5.6 is wide open at 300mm on your lens but the idea of using a shorter focal length might also open up wider apertures (or faster glass), which would also help by letting in light more quickily allowing a faster shutter speed without sacrificing too much exposure.
The other advantage is that you have more options for cropping. For example, in the image above you have cropped off the bottom of the guitar. A wider shot would allow for that but you could also try other options. You do lose resolution if you rely on cropping to give a "digital zoom" but, if that lets you avoid camera shake, the trade-off may be worth it. Wulf |

i think hi resolution is need onle for printing on paper. for incrising the shuter speed , the ISO is not an option ?there's not a program to get rid of noise? I hope you understand what i write here because i use Google to tranlate so I apologize for de inconvinient ![]() ![]() thanks |

You could try increasing the ISO. However, especially if the picture will still be relatively underexposed, you might end up with noise that will be difficult to deal with. There are programs that will help but they tend to soften the image.
The best thing is to take lots of pictures and try lots of settings to build experience on what works with your gear and to your taste. Don't forget to enjoy the gig too! What language are you translating from? Wulf |
