Welcome to DPS.
Two main things that I see with this portrait. The first is the uneven pattern of light. While the light on the subjects face is fairly soft and uniform, the shadows and highlights in her hair and on her shoulder are distracting. Try to play your subjects in solid shade when you have to shoot during the midday hours.
The second thing is that I don't feel any connection with the subject - she's looking down and out of the picture, and I can't see what she's looking at or discern any reason for her doing that. I'm not saying that your subject always has to be looking at the camera, just that if they aren't, there should be a good reason they aren't - ie., the direction of the subjects eyes should be supportive of the message of the photograph, if that makes sense.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
