Default Blue-eyed baby

Here is a shot I took on the spur of the moment of a co-workers baby in the tea room at work.I did not realise until I got home how captivating her eyes were!

Just the light from the window and not much in the way of processing, though I did blur the background with Photoshop more than it was in the original pic.

Camera: PENTAX Corporation
Model: PENTAX K100D Super
ISO: 800
Exposure: 1/180 sec
Aperture: 6.7
Focal Length: 120mm
Flash Used: No

Beautiful eyes and nice color tones overall. a bit dark on the right side of the pic though, otherwise it' been a awesome portrait..

+1. A reflector on her left (camera right) would help even the light out a bit. I don't mind a bit of shadowing to avoid flat lighting and give some depth, but it's a little too dark. Also, I'm not loving the dead-center composition. Otherwise, nice capture!

Great for a snapshot! Nice and sharp...agree with the crop.

Thanks to all for the comments and advice. That was one of the first pics I took with my first DSLR - a Pentax K100D. I now have a K20D and am enjoying learning the mysteries of photography.

This forum is a great help, I have picked up so many useful tip & techniques since I joined.

Cheers to all of you!

Gerard

That being said...you've got a fantastic eye, and I cannot wait to see what you do in the future. I'm betting you'll blow our doors in!

Thanks Susan, I have more experience with Photoshop than photography. I kind of got into things backwards, playing around with photo editing my point & shoot snapshots for years before making the plunge into the deep end of the photographic pool in recent times.
