Default Should I get rid of the post in the background?

I have two questions:
1- Is the composition OK? Should I remove the post in the background? How?
2- Is the enhancement too much or fair?

EXIF:
Pentax Optio 30 (P&S)
1/320 sec @ f/2.9
F.L.: 5.8 mm
ISO 50

"Enhancements" are an artistic decision.
Personally, for most photographs, I only prefer them if they are not really apparent.

I would remove the post in the background. You can do this by using the cloning brush in your editing program.

Yes I would agree that the photo would be better without the posts, that would clear the background and create a better focus.

Nice shot of a good-looking little character.

I also think that it would look better with the post removed. As for the processing, it does look a little overdone. It is easy to get carried away and go too far - I have done it many times.

What I find helpful is to go away and come back the next day with fresh eyes, it will often be more obvious if you have overdone things then.

Cheers,

Gerard

I agree. Also, the horizon looks a bit tilted.

Very cute expression and I really like the happiness you captured.

Hi again, I hope you don't mind but I have had a go at your pic in Photshop. This is how I would adjust it it it were mine.

Cheers,

Gerard
