![]() Ello, New at photography and I'm trying to put what I'm learning into practice. Well here is a pic of my 1 yr old daughter Janai. I think I over did it with the levels (also trying to wrap my brain around the post processing side of it as well). Exif: camera: canon rebel xs exposure: 1/125 aperture: f/5.0 focal length: 150 mm iso speed: 800 post processing wise, I've done some sharping and adjusted the levels in GIMP. First picture here for your praise/slaughter. Any tips/comments on what to improve on in greatly appreciated. Last edited by verdisQUO; 12-23-2009 at 06:26 AM. |

Yeah, the picture looks great, she's got a very intense look in her eyes. Kinda cute to see on a little lady thins young.
But that grey block of whatever on the right of the frame has to go.

Very nice photo! I would like to see the wall gone and would like to see more of her head. This is a great start! Keep up the good work!

Thanks all for the words. That grey thing is actually a door she was playing with. I was trying to be careful as far as adjusting the levels and I didn't want to skin to have a red tint to them. The eyes were hard as well. Maybe I should just make another adjustment layer to treat the eyes? In the untreted shot, they are lighter.

I think it's a remarkable capture - so very razor sharp! I'm not a huge fan of the composition with the door, but with kids it's so much important to capture their expression. Really great start!
