Default Christmas portraits

This is a new place I found in my home to do portraits. So much more light, but not a whole lot of room. I am still working on my new 50mm lens. I had made this dress for a prop and decided to try it out. Does the lighting work? I know it's a little bright, but I like my picts that way. I didn't have a reflector and I am wondering if the shadows are too much? Catchlights? I have issues with them since my windows are big and space is limited. You can see more from this shoot on my flickr page. (I am new at the flickr thing, so I hope it works )

What a cutie!! Love the dress. It is a little over exposed for my taste but it looks like all the detail is all there. I really like this shot. Composition looks great to me and I don't see that shadows are a problem. Catchlights look good to me as well. I'd love to see more of your photos but you didn't put a link in for your Flickr site. I think you did an awesome job. This is just my 2 cents worth and I'm sure others will chime in.

She is a cutie and the pose is nice. It would be better if all of her arms were in the shot, but it can be difficult to keep a child looking at you and get everything in the frame you want. I think the lighting looks pretty good, maybe a little bright on the right side. Overall I think you did a great job. I love the babies hair!

Wow! I think you did a great job. I like the brightness of it, actually. I agree that it would be nice to have her hands in the frame, but I understand about space constraints and wiggly little ones! It really is a beautiful photo! I would love to see more of your photos!

Really great shot with a lot of wow factor. I, too, like the high-key light for children's portraits and I think the catchlights are perfect. If the hand weren't cut off the whole shot would be truly spectacular.
