So much patience is needed to Photograph kids. Any tips? Candy bribes? Anyway, I need people to critique composition and lighting. Used SB-600 on the camera bouncing the light. I decided to take the shot from a standing position because the kids were moving too much. I have a new respect for people that Photograph kids for a living.

i have no constructive criticisim b/c frankly....I just paid a 'pro' to take this EXACT shot of my two kids (roughly those ages) and yours is much better in terms of color and expression captured.....GAH! CHILDREN! MY OWN CHILDREN. I have yet to get a good shot of the two of them TOGETHER.

Sorry...little vent there.

I think the composition is great. The colouring has a very "warm" feeling to it, if that is what you were going for then it worked. I would probably have made it a bit brighter, but not TOO bright, if that makes sense (most likely not). They are adorable btw

Beautiful Kids!!! They are gorgeous....

I love the coloring it's warm, family cozy...

Only thing I would question is the baby's leg and hand, would it be better balanced with all of the leg or hand showing? or none?

Very, very well done!!!

It's hard to criticize photos of kids; they are just so darn cute!!!! I love the expressions and the warmth of the shot. I'm just new to this forum and don't profess to be a professional but I do know that if I was the parents I'd absolutely love this shot!!

I agree with the warm, maybe add a little bit of a blue filter to damper down the yellow a tad. Not too much - I like the warm - just a little bit.

Thank you so much for the comments. It seems I'm doing something right I guess. I watch for the warm feel to the picture next time. Keep the comments coming. That is the only way for us newbies to improve.

Excellent shot-don't let anyone tell you that bounced flash doesn't work-especially one with photography degrees. Regards, Ken
