Hey everyone, this was my first ever outdoor session with children. I wasn't sure what to expect. Below are some of my favorite shots. Do you think their skin tone looks a little unnatural or too contrasty? I'm a big fan of bright, bold pictures but I hope I didn't go overboard.
Also, I am printing one picture for the parents as a small thank you present for letting me "borrow" their kids. Which one is your favorite and why? Would you still recommend changing something, perhaps brighter, darker etc? And just out of curiosity, which one is your least favorite and why? Is it because of the angle? The post processing? What can I do to improve? I don't mean to sound overwhelming and shoot out a million questions at you guys, but as you can probably tell, I am a totally amateur, so I would love and appreciate every comment! Thanks everyone ![]() ----------------------- ![]() ----- Sorry, I am not too familiar with the rules here, but if I could only post one picture for comments, it would've been the one above. What do you think of it? Here's the EXIF for this specific shot. aperture- F/5 shutter speed- 1/250s iso-200 lens- 17-40mm @ 39mm camera- canon rebel t1i flash- speedlite 430 ex ii --------------- Below are additional pictures from the same day. My favourite of the set is number 3! I think the bright colours work well on the pictures, and I like this one because all the kids are in the picture and at the same level (rather than some further away) so I think that would be a nice photo to give to the parents to have.
Also the playful poses work well I think. ;D |

i really like the one that is posted here best. The one of the kids running to the camera is really great too.
I love the fun loving expressions, and the childlike enthusiasm is awesome. Only negative I have is the shadow of the camera but great job!!! Keep shooting!! CW |

My favorite one of the whole bunch was the running kids!!! If I were the parent, I would absolutely love to have that one. I think you did a great job on all of them but I do like the one you picked out above. I smiled when I looked at those photos; they are full of the joy of life!
