Default I am with you baby

Hi this is another picture of me and my little angel.. I am trying to say that "baby, I am with you always". Please let me know if the picture is properly composed and if I need to do some editing? I actually cropped the original image to just show the little hand holding my finger.. also will it be better in B/W?

What was your exif information?
For me the photo is darling and of course a cherished moment. But, it has a lot of noise in and is out of focus.
It might work in b & w . try it and see

Oops, I missed the EXIF info.. actually my post was deleted and when I uploaded again I forgot to add the EXIF. Anyway.. here is the info:
Camera: NIKON D80
Focal Length: 70.0mm
Exposure Time: 1/40
Aperture: f/5.6
ISO: 200

I am not sure how did I get the noise... Is it because I cropped only the part from the big image?? I have now uploaded the b/w picture. Let me know how it looks? If I have to change any other setting?

You will get some distortion when you crop an image way down.
The fingers in this are now too dark.

Try always doing your noise removal first. Its ok if they look real soft cause the last thing you should always do is your sharpening. How are you convertng this to black and white?

I am using PS Image->Mode->GreyScale. And how to remove the noise before? And I think noise come due to ISO. right? But isn't the ISO of 200 low enough? Appreciate your comments.. I have tried contrast to throw some light on the finger.. Please let me know how is it faired or it is still dark!

200 should be fine but cropping it down that tiny will show every tiny little flaw there is. I beleive there shuld be a noise reduction under edits somewhere. (I dont have ps on my lap top so cant peek and tell you for sure)
Or you could also try using surface blur, that will remove some as well.

You can also convert to black and white by playing with channels

As an example on how a quick flip of a photo can change it drastically. What I di was a quick noise removal. Converted to black and white by using channels. Mostly yellow. And did an unsharp mask at the very end. Its still rather sketchy but hopefully you see what I meant

Kuul13, I know you requested that I critique this, but Wind has you covered! She's done an excellent conversion and made some great suggestions! (She is the master that we all want to learn from).

Hi there, obviously this is a wonderful moment and a shot you will cherish forever, I just think the finger is a bit too imposing and the shot could have worked better with the tiny hand in the foreground but apart from that its lovely

Is there a tutorial for creating black & white using this technique? I'd love to know how to do this.

Thanks,
Bekkie

I wonder how this shot would look flipped 90 degrees right? Just a thought.
