The picture shows a teenage girl currently in maturation threshold. The transformation occurs abruptly, so that the character seems to close itself in silence and darkness, in order to banish her fears and hoping to answer her questions. The predominant color is red (make-up, background), symbolizing the birth of the first feelings of love and her efforts to display her face. The cracks and blood that flows on the wall express the pain caused by the development of her body while passing through the passage from child to woman.
Model: anonymous
Initial title: Re-Vogue

Question: what sort of feeling does it provoque to you and is there something I should change vis-a-vis the lighting or the composition?

What was your exif? (please try and include that as it is an important part of offering you critique)
Your lighting is great on this but I'm not sold by the pose. I dont mind so much the one eye being covered but the strand of hairs going straight down her nose isnt working for me.I'm not sure what it is about her hands that bother me, but they just dont seem to feel right.

from reading your scenario, you nailed the weird & uncomfortable in a technically excellent way.

@windrider86: I didn't write down the exif because the picture is heavily manipulated that the exif isn't that relevant; as for the strand that's going above her nose, yes, you're quite right about it, I guess I didn't pay attention to all the details, I'm still learning though, and as for the hands, it may be the contrast between the colour of her face and the colour of her hands, maybe I should have made a balance between them..

@zona5101: thanks, it seems that I somehow achieved a goal this time

The great thing about technology is that you dont have to write down your exif. Its saved within your image right on your pc!

i believe you got your point across......she's obviously a very young woman.....the use of heavy makeup definitely screams teenager.....it's common that a woman of that age would be experimental with her appearence......so, yes.......as far as your model goes, you nailed the time in her life......

as for my feelings about the execution......i'm on the same page as windrider with that hair covering her right eye completely.....and i'm not sure if it's her hair or the post work that hides her left shoulder, but i find it's absence distracting......

i like the wallpaper, but the blood doesn't add much to the scene as it blends in a little too well with the background......

and lastly, i understand why you added the vignette, but i would like to see it not intrude over the lower half of your model......it doesn't come off as dark as much as it does dirty.....

I have to say that I really am insecure about the blood, it looks fake because it's blending with the bg too well, as you said.. and as for the hair, i didn't edit it (too much) and I can assure you that there's not a big difference between the original and this one, regarding the hair.. and thank you very much for the last part of your reply, I can now understand where I went wrong

I really like this photo, it's a great idea too. Possibly using red lipstick instead of the pink would be better to go with the other tones of red in the photo, I'm not really sure because on the other hand having it pink does suggest an experimental attitude to make up cos it's quite a bright pink!
