This picture is one of a friend who has bad profile pictures on face book. So I am revamping his look!
Impromptu photo shoot at school during lunch Nikon D60, 50mm f/1.8 Soft box, Profoto bi-head kit. One for the background nothing on it (bad mistake). Black wall, used about a 3 foot reflector behind him. and an energy saving bulb through a beauty dish reflector for his hair. about 5 feet up. Started with a brush (in PS-CS4) at 50% softness, and default white, painted over his teeth. every one of em, and then changed the blending mode to soft overlay. looks pretty good eh? I then took the black from the shades, cloned the colour and made pen selections around the frames, feathered at 3px and then painted with I think 0% softness brush relatively large brush. My intentions are to put a picture of Mountains in there, or a bmx'er that he likes. Only thing I am wondering about is perspective. Vanishing point wont let me do this (far as I know) because its not a rectangular shape. next i used the patch tool on his face. does it look too fake?? I noticed his upper lip was gone, so i put some of it back with the history brush. (great tool that is ![]() then i added some hue/saturation adjustment layers, coloured his shirt and took some colour out of the background that spilled from his shirt and then a brightness/contrast to give him some more then to cap it ll off i added a 15pt Gaussian blur and used a soft brush to mask his face back in. Were both 16 (he is turning 16 soon). What do you think? is this good for facebook, for a spur of the moment shoot. Thanks for reading ![]() Dayton. ******** type="text/**********"> Y.E.onDOMReady(show_notes_initially);*********** Before, this link. DSC_0895 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! |

I think the whitening of the teeth was taken too far. It looks unnatural.
