Thinking of contiuing my art project using similiar techniques as I am currently doing, so fancied some C&C on my current lot

(2 of my photos seemed to have gone AWOL, but they are on my flickr.)
Well in the photo I was going for the more natural poses and surroundings, no a staged photo. Really I want to know what you think and where I could've done better. Sorry for being vague. Thanks.

I would crop some of the dead space at the top. It is significantly underexposed so I would adjust the curves/levels to correct it. In the future I would use a wider f-stop to isolate the subject from the background through depth of field since the trees in the back aren't important. Then If you increase the saturation a bit to compensate for the loss of color with underexposure it would look something like.....

Unfortunately this one was taken with the digi-cam not what with adjustable values.
The one on my flickr is a DSLR photo and was staged. (The one looking down from in a tree.) Will shop it around a little though, thanks.
