I have to say this is one of the worst background (and foreground) blur jobs I have ever seen. Yet, somehow it sorta seems to work in a quirky way. Kinda makes it feel like the hotel is a quirky place.
A couple of things I would recommend though even given the quirkiness: First, be a bit more careful around the edges of the people. On the left, for instance, the arm of the guy in the black jacket is blurred, and the rear end of the woman in front of him is inappropriately blurred. EDIT: Oh yeah, and around the bottom edges of the sign too. Second, you could probably isolate the sign using Lens Distortion in PS and put it on a parallel plane with the subjects. You could also straighten it if you wish, but given that everyone knows it's crooked that might not be appealing. Interesting photo. |

I think the blur job makes the background even more distracting. I could have looked passed a busy background, but now it looks like you guys are floating around in space with such an even blur job. Can you post what it looks like without the blurred background?

You could have added a touch of blur to the background, and pulled it off. I don't like the bent over position of the girls in the front. I'd have tried to had all the guys knell on one knee in the front with all the girls standing. |

Beyond the blur that everyone else has mentioned, I'm not crazy about the half-squat the girls in the front are doing. Also, was everyone afraid of touching anyone else? The faces have the look of eveyone being close friends, but their body language tells me they all hate eachother.
