Default north african photo journalism

As I will be living in Fes Morocco until next June I feel an aspect of photography i should try to develop is photo-journalism but put bluntly, I feel that I suck.

So here's one of the better images i've come up with and I was wondering if you could tell me what you would have done differently. I feel like i'm squandering fundamentally good subject matter so any input would be much appreciated. Any opinions on technique, colours, composition or anything else would be fantastic

As a photojournalist myself, I can say that photojournalism is about telling a story. It's not just a portrait of someone or a landscape photo, it needs to have impact and show emotion.

While this photo is good as a snapshot, it doesn't tell what is going on or why you took the photo.

Photojournalism isn't always pretty...but it is powerful.
