I posted this yesterday and my only comment was that the image wasn't here—and it had disappeared! I'd love some feedback.
I take a lot of snaps of folks I'm riding with, and some turn out to be decent portraits. Here I was thinking background and came up with a stormy sky and autumn trees which give it (to me) almost a threatening mood. But I had to crop her hands and put her way down in the left corner.
Does it work as a portrait? Is the yellow okay? What could be improved?

I think perhaps there are too many things in the back ground: tree, dark sky, grass, gravel, paved path.

If you were wanting ominous, a lower angle (looking up at a dominant subject) with sky filling most (if not all) of the background would have worked.

I deleted your second thread cause we fixed your first thread so that your picture would show.

It's a cool snapshot, but I don't think it works as a portrait because of the crop issues you mentioned.
The sunglasses and dark shadows make it hard for her face to compete against he bright jacket and the intriguing backdrop.

I've now deleted the original first thread to cut down on the confusion.

Sorry about the multiple posting, but I tried to explain what happened. Thanks for taking care of the duplicates.
Thanks for the comments too. My process is still to see what I can make out of a shot by cropping and minor manipulations, so I guess it's still a snapshot, but I thought it might be interesting to put her into a landscape. Better than a parking lot where I see a lot of them.
