Default Little boys hands too distracting?

This is my first time on here so I'm not even sure if I am doing this right! If I have done something wrong please feel free to let me know. lol I took some pictures of my friends little boys, and although I love this little guys face I was wondering if his blurry hands were a little too distracting? Any other feedback would be great as well! Thanks

What a cutie!!! Love the lighting.

Yes, the blurry hands are a bit distracting. May I suggest one of the changes below (Please let me know if you want the suggestions removed).
1. Make it look like you meant to have the hands blurry.

Here's what I did:
  1. Loosely select the face and hands
  2. Invert your selection
  3. Add a small amount of Gaussian Blur
  4. Invert your selection again and deselect the hands
  5. Sharpen the face
  6. Clone out the house in the background
  7. Crop

OR, an alternate would be to crop the picture down to just a headshot.

Very adorable capture!

Great pic, but yeah, the blurry hands are distracting. It looks great as a headshot as the previous poster did.

yes they re a little distracting, but his face and eyes in particular are not very sharp and this I see as more detracting from the shot.

Agreed. I'm curious what the shutter speed was. Based on the other exif and the time of day, I'm guessing around 1/60th or so, which is kinda borderline for crisply capturing a moving child. If it was even slower then 1/60th then that was definitely the issue and you would have had to bump up your ISO or increase your aperture to get the shutter speed faster without using flash.
