Post Santa's Little Helper

My daughter-in-law asked me to do a series of portraits for her family because I had a "really nice camera". I've never done photos specifically for any person for a specific purpose. I do believe a 'good' photographer will almost always take good photos no matter the camera.
Here is one of the photos from the many I took and I would like to know what others think of it and how it can be improved.

Most of your shots appear a bit underexposed which could have been helped by either upping the iso, slowing the shutter down, increasing aperture or a combination of.

Having said that they are not that underexposed that they cannot be salvaged with some PP work.

Crop
Levels Layer
Color adj.layer
Sharpening layer
Drop shadow frame

Do you mean Armando is a cute subject? Just kidding.

Just remember the rules about not cutting people at the joints or cutting off hands and feet. Also use the rule of thirds and try not placing him in the centre of the photo all the time. It's hard to capture little ones sharply but it looks like you did
