Default a light, camera, some tape, and a gun.

this is a picture for a Human Rights assignment for my art class. i was going for like a right to carry arms, right ti free speech, and maybe a religion right. does this convey those things?

The image is very cool and thought provoking, but I don't know if I get your message from it. I can't honestly say that I would have known what it meant without you explaining it. Maybe go for one theme an image. Just my .02

I have to agree with djase, unless your assignment demands something more, I'd stick to one message for the shot (to help us simple photogs ).

The tape over the mouth shouts out free speech, but I'm not sure that I get 'the right to bear arms' from a gun to the head. In combination with the tape, it seems more related to kidnap or torture to me.

From a technical perspective, though I like the drama that the uplighting generates, I'd like to see it slightly further forward, just enough to take the shadow from the eyes.

Interesting assignment, please post up your final images.

thanks guys, I think I've decided to use this one

IMG_7767edit

gets more of my point across, and the lighting is better, the only this i have to pick at it is the gun is a bit more out of focus then I would have liked, i hope people can still see its a gun.

I think both shots would be better suited for an anti gun image.

Suicide, and pointing a gun at the viewer are not good ways to get across peoples rights to even own a gun, much less be able to carry one concealed.

I'm 100% pro gun, carry one legally all the time.

The message I got in the first was that you were suicidal. The second, well, lets just say I was nanoseconds away from shooting you! DO NOT POINT A GUN AT ME!!!!!!!!!!!

I too am 100% pro gun, I just don't feel like your images portray the point you are wanting.
