I dig this shot a lot. I like the darkness, the solitude. I like the light falloff. I can't help but look at the image and wonder about this moment in time.

Notice how he asked for and posted this in the Critique section...

My opinion states that the highlights in the center-upper section of this picture, might be over blown.

Try reducing that a bit, and see what results you get.
Good luck,

Dayton

So if i don't have something pissy to say i should just move on is that it?
If you want to get technical, a post in this section should also specfically ask what area(s) the poster is seeking feedback. I liked it just as it was.

I like the shot too, the leading lines and light falloff are great.

I'd like to see more light on your friends face though - he's a bit lost in the dark background. Can't tell if the monitor in the shot is on - perhaps you could get (more) light for this?

thanks for the comments guys, and even though this is a critique section i can always appreciate some positive opinions the montior is off by the way, the way i placed the light behind him caused for his face to be hidden by the shadows, but i liked that about the image, it added to the tone

Well I have to agree about the face...you expect he's looking at the monitor, but it's not on and casting light on his face. Maybe if he were looking down it would be better. His right arm placement is also a bit confusing as you can't see where his hand went. I do like the lighting concept

p.s. Can't we do without the snide comments, please? We're all here to learn from each other's strengths in a respectful atmosphere, so that people do feel comfortable enough posting. Thanks.
