I just started playing around with my new camera and I got this shot kneeling down looking up towards him sitting on a ledge. Right now, getting a good shot is pure luck as there is so much to learn! I thought it was pretty good for a beginner though...any suggestions?

Hey there-great for a beginners shot. I cant really critique because Im new myself but it perhaps try making the contrasts stronger? Im thinking a stronger contrast will bring greater definition to his face?
BTW, cute little bub this one ![]() Thanks, Priya. |

jar,
know all about the beginners luck, the best candid shots are so hard. i agree with pink lens, a little more contrast, don't know how to take a picture with more contrast, without altering it with picture software after.. any suggestions? lcb |

my only real issue is that all the plants behind him have a lot of business going on with the hot spots scattered around. it makes me feel like I don't know where to look so he kinda gets lost. other than that I thinks its a good start to a long life behind the lens

I like the depth of field (I believe that is how to describe it)...where the tree is soft in the back....I have no other meaningfuly advice to offer as I am also a beginner.
I like the edits suggested also. Cute subject.
