Veiled Woman and Child, image connects?

Hello all,

I am currenty working on a project and this is a photograph that I cannot decide to include. I was privledged enough to have this woman allow me to photograph her and her daughter, but my question does the image have an emotional connection? Is it a strong image? I shot another with the baby looking away and the image was flat and a bit lifeless. It would really help me to know if people see the bond that I was trying to capture between both them and me as the photographer.

It was shot with a Nikon D300, f/16, 1/500, not sure of the focal length.

Thanks for any input you can give on this, technically, artistically, whatever...

Goosebumps is all I can say! Great capture!
My eyes follow the woman staring at the girl, to the girl with great eye contact with you!
I want to keep looking at it. I wouldn't chane a thing!
