Question First Self-portrait

Hi everyone

This is my first self-portrait attempt, I took it out of boredom and lack of anything better to do

I'm fairly pleased with the outcome but I really know nothing about portrait photography and would like some feedback, so what do you think? Good? Rubbish? Anything that could improve it? All comments welcome!

ISO 100, f3.2, 1sec exposure, tungsten WB

GIMP PP:
Cropped; Adjusted colour to get rid of yellow tint; Cloned out some blemishes; Increased blue level in eyes; Slight contrast boost; Applied vignette

The one thing I'd definitely change is take it somewhere without a Guiness poster behind my head!

Your cropped image is a better composition however it is a bit dark compared to the original. Also you are right about not having the Guinness poster behind you as it is distracting.
