Default "Vision of an Angel"

Newbie here (to both the forum and to photography) and would like some opinions on the lighting, etc on this photo.

I accidentally left the ISO at 1600 so it's very grainy (I usually leave the camera at 80 but was showing someone how high ISO makes a difference in grain and forgot to set it back. Didn't realize it till after the shoot*sigh*) But please ignore the grain.

The main lighting, from the model's right (camera's left) was a large flash about 2' to the left of the camera. I had it softened by rubber-banding a layer or two of paper towel over the flash itself. I used a floodlight from behind to highlight the hair (that was maybe 6-8" from her head.) The camera to model distance was maybe about 6'.

(BTW, the model's name is Angel, thus the title)

Link to flickr page. There are also a couple of other pics of her on my page.

EXIF info:

Camera: Canon Powershot S5 IS
Aperture: f/3.5
Focal length: 16mm (if I recall correctly, that's a 35mm equivalent for this camera, which has a smaller sensor size)
Exposure time: 1/320
ISO: 1600 (again, *sigh*)
Metering mode: pattern
Exposure compensation: 0

I like the lighting on her face a lot. Since the back light was a flood light, I'd have moved it around a little to try an get a more even back lite look.

If your new to photography, your on a good start.

Thanx. I've had the camera about a year and mainly been doing outdoor/nature stuff. This was one of my first long studio-style shoots (I'd done a couple other quickies using that same flash but without the backlighting. The pictures titled "Gobblehead" on my page was one of the very first with that setup but without the backlighting.)
