Yeah, it's really overexposed - you've blown out the highlights and lost a lot of detail. The high ISO probably contributed - what was the lighting like?

Facing the sun is not a great idea, LOL. Try again with the sun at one side (preferably not at mid-day - way too harsh, you'll get too many harsh shadows - early morning or late afternoon is best) and a reflector on the other side to even out the light. Or you can try backlighting, with a reflector in front of you to put some light on your face, or use fill flash.

That's all from me. My portraits are pretty sub-par, so I can't really offer any meaningful advice there. I usually just admire other peoples' portraits. I think you have a good start, though. But, yeah, like Susan said, drop the ISO and get out of the direct sunlight.

I agree with Susan.One cannot see all the detail of the face.Practice more and post again.
