Default Woman In Shadows

The image below was taken back in October, I do beleive it was the first night of owning the new Camera which you will find the information for below.

I just found the image in a folder on the computer while doing some spring cleaning and wonder what you guys thought of it. Personally I like it, it also looks great in B & W but I posted the colour one in here.

Any thoughts on the image below, lighting, Crop or other.

Camera = Pentax ist DS
Expusure time = 1/5 Sec.
ISO = 200
F-Stop = 5.6

I think you have great photo! But I think it need more light. And it looks like you coped 1/2 her foot. I think it needs to be all or nothing. You took this photo your first night? Great job!

Im not mad about it; to be honest. It's OK. But its kind of inbetween, I'd like to see less, or more of her. Preferably, less I think. Perhaps just a highlighted line. It would give it a bit more abstraction, and form. The lighting is just a little bit to dull. I'd put the flashes behind her, or atlest supplemented with some flashes from behind, at the very least.

And you seem to have done a pretty hard jpeg conversion ? Seems very pixelated to me =)

All I see is feet growing out of her butt and part of an arm floating under her body, and her hair and the rest of her body have no definition from the bg. I love the concept, but the contrast is wonky. There's barely any definition of the model from the background. It's very one-dimensional; there's no depth. And the skin tones are way too orange.

Like I said...I like the concept and I'd love to see this reworked!

I think it might work better if you cropped it and got rid of her bum...

Really? I'm curious to know what part of the image says cut and paste?

It was actually set up for a completely different pose, the model moved and stretched her back by rolling in a ball before getting back into position, it was basically a snap shot, between shots. That’s why the lighting is off. I actually thought it gave an unusual image although I agree its a tad flat. Its great to get the opinion of others.
