Hi everyone,
I am very new to this site and quite new to photography also, I have always loved taking pictures but have only recently started working on building up a bit of a portfolio. This was my first photo shoot of my best friends 5 month old daughter - she has beautiful big eyes and is very sweet. I set up an are in her house with a bit of natural light and had a play around with different angles and poses. This is one of my favourites but I am not sure if there is enough light or if I am on the right track? What do you think? I shot this with my Nikon DX40 but not totally familiar with all the other specs at the moment so forgive me for not providing them. I did change it to B&W and enhanced it a little. I would love to hear some thoughts from some of you

She's a cutie!
Some suggestions: I would move back to include all of her in the shot, or if you want a closer shot I would include both arms or just a very close shot of her head. I find the one visible arm distracting. For lighting, you could try using some tin foil or a white sheet to reflect light into those shadowed areas. Keep on shooting! Best wishes.
