I am wanting to improve this picture.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This was taken with a
Olympus C730Uz
F stop f/4 Exposure 1/50 sec
ISO speed ISO-64
Focal length 16 mm
Maximum aperture 3.6
No flash

Is the background too distracting? I thought not but am not sure now.

You need more contrast. Its a darling photo but its just a tad flat. Also the crop is a bit close to the chin
As far as the background goes, if you cuold blur it a bit, it wouldnt be a problem

The crop is a little close at the bottom, but I think it is good otherwise. The expression definitely gets the attention in this picture, so I think the background is fine.

Agree about the crop. Fix that and add a bit of contrast and you have a truly amazing shot, IMO.
