Default First newborn session

I had my first newborn today and he made me work hard! Here is one of the few times he was sleeping. I would like critique on the white balance and his skin tone. Also, is the shadow above his nose distracting? This was using one window at 45 degrees.

Beautiful picture. I would have never noticed the shadow if you hadn't mentioned it so it doesn't bother me. The skin tone seems fine to me maybe slightly overblown but I'm no expert. I would darken his face slightly. Very nicely done IMO

I love how his little hand is buried in that chubby little cheek, LOL! The lighting and white balance look good, but the skin tones are a touch cool to me. The shadow doesn't bother me at all, it give the photo some depth, and it's not a harsh shadow at all.

Great capture I find it at least on my monitor to be a bit on the dark side. I lightened it up a bit using curves and got ride of the small shadow on the nose.

nice job

I think it looks pretty great too, skin tone looks just fine, but u do have room to lighten it a little as photophix did. Babies are super hard work in my experience!

Thanks for all the comments! And thanks Photofix for putting me to shame once again - but also helping me to realize the potential. I went back and lightened it and added a slight glow, but it still doesn't have the dream-like quality of your edit! Did you use an action for that?

No action, i think maybe the drop shadow frame adds a bit of glow.
