Default Critique needed please

Hi Guys and Girls

Firstly I hope not to offend anyone with the wording that is visible on the blackboard behind the model...

This was shot in a derelict school and I'd like a little critique on the composition (especially the fact the raised floor and chalk board are angled) and also if I have taken the PP a little too far, i.e. is the image now too soft (had a small issue as I had been shooting the night before and forgot to change my ISO back down from 800, so had some pretty noisy shots...)

Look forward to hearing your critique.

Loren - Derelict Shoot

i think this is a great shot. The horizontals don't bother me in the least and probably add to the "ubran dismay" feel of the shot. At first I had to actually look for the slope in the lines because my eyes were stuck on your model. Really like the single point lighting and overall exposure. Dig the light fall off over on the left hand side. I love the counter balance of her legs with the empty space she is looking. Very nice done/

Beautiful lighting, really looks like a fashion editorial

Was it natural light or did you use strobes?

Very nice job. I like the lighting as well.

The one thing I did notice was that most of her jacket and hair is lost in shadow. There are no details to help give either feature much shape.

thank you

regarding the lighting it was all natural light coming from the windows on the side of the room she was facing.

In hind sight it would have been better to have added a strobe to have aided in keeping what has been lost in the hair etc (as well as checking my ISO of course!)

regards,

alastair
