When framing the shot I would have taken it with the eagle and the man more on the left, so that the eagle was looking more towards the centre of the picture. I too would have blurred out the man just a bit more - the eagle is the true star of the show!

I would say it is better to focus on the bird.This is perfect for me,but others may feel different.

In my opinion, no question that the focus is where it belongs. Very nice image!
