Default I'm New and I'm Trying :P

This is a photo that I took during a fun costumed shoot with a couple of friends. I particularly liked this one, but since I'm still new to portraiture, would love some critique. Something seems a little off on this one for me, but I can't put my finger on it.
Any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated so I can try to get it right the next time.
Thanks!

I think you have a great capture there, quite captivating. As far as it being off somehow…the lighting is cool (color temp) and flat. The wall competes with it’s bright and interesting texture. BUT in this case I think it all works together and adds mystic and a bit of foreign intrigue. Really a great shot.

Default Thanks!

Thank you! I appreciate your comments very much.
Perhaps doing some post on this and adding a slight blur to the stone wall behind her would help?
I thought maybe the shadows on her eyes might be a little too hard as well.

Bluring out the wall might be a nice experiment. The shadow on the eyes is deep, almost black holes - try and lighten it a bit but I think that it will change the mood of the pic. ...and you may like it... or not? Cool thing about digital is we don't have to wait for the paper to dry

Ha ha! So true. I love the 'undo' button.
Thanks again, I'll give your suggestions a try.

Default very nice

I think if you lighten you may very well need to use a mask so you leave a bit of shadow in key areas to maintain your mystery. I think it works as is, but playing won't hurt
