Hi all,
This was one of my faves from my first attempt at a photoshoot with a girlfriend. I have generally focused more so on landscape photography or anything other than portraiture so I was pretty happy with how they turned out, especially seeing as all the lighting I had was a window and an industrial light! My only issue was the bed head which seems to be growing out of her head... Must pay more attention to composition next time! I did a few minor touch ups with PS Elements (cleaned up her eyes, fixed the contrast and white balance) but any other suggestions or feedback as to how I could improve the shot would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ![]() Olympus E-300 1/15sec @ f/3.9 ISO: 200 You can also see a few of the other shots on my Flikr page at: Flickr: Kbabylicious' Photostream

You've blown out a big chunk of your background, while a big chunk is not blown out. If you look carefully at the background, you've got sort of a V-shaped pure white (255,255,255). Around this V-shape, you've a ring that looks sort of blue-ish purple. Inside the V is where you've blown everything out; the ring around the V is where you've half blown things; and the outside of the ring is the natural color of the wall.
It's distracting to me because it is something I try to avoid. It might not bother you or anyone else. It might be fixable in post. But nice pics overall. |

I agree about painting out the bed... My biggest thing in this photo is the lack of color/brightness of the eyes. Maybe a reflector bouncing some light back onto her face would have done the job? But that's just my humble thoughts...

Haha! Yeah the bed was one of my biggest flaws!
Ttosifa, I see what you mean now... Unfortunatly I'm working on a laptop which isn't calibrated so sometimes I miss things unless I tilt the screen, as soon as I looked for it, well... I can't stop noticing it now! LOL! I'll have to re-touch it in PS =) Blaze Jaffe: Will try to salvage it in PS, unfortunatly I don't have reflector altho I have seen some good DIY setups on the net so will def look into it for next time! Thanks for the help guys! =)
