Default high key kids portrait

Hi, a friend asked me to do some portraits (headshots mainly) of her boys. Here is one from the shoot. Do you think this looks like a professional shot? Is it too close (cropped)? Is the pp too much? I think this one show his personality but do u think because he is looking away it is not as good?......And anything else u might think of lol.

Like the shot! eyes look extremely sharp, which is great!.

In my opinion.. i dont like to chop off heads...but i think it can work for this picture... and the hi key works for this kid
Nit picking... the shoulders really bug me... too much poof

All in all i think its a great shot... good job

excellent focus on the eyes...nice and sharp. The crop is a little too tight for my tastes (top of his head), but doesn't spoil it as such. I'd say the PP is good...skin tones look natural and you haven't washed out those freckles. Overall, a thumbs up here!

Thanks for the feedback guys...his shirt bugs me as well, more so now that everyone has confirmed it lol - after considering ligh,t composition and then trying to get him comforable with me and my camera I am kicking myself to have not noticed the small details. Oh well.

I'll leave the more technical critique to others that know more than me, but I don't think this looks over-processed at all. The eyes look great - not sure if you touched them up or not, but that's the one place that I think people tend to really go overboard. Nice shot!

I really like it! The head being cropped off does bother me a little, but I think the shoulders are fine. Like others have said, the eyes are awesome.
