Default outdoor family portraits

haven't had a chance to post anything in a real long time. please let me know what you like, don't like, and what i can improve on. i think my photography might have hit a wall due to my obsession with off camera lighting.

rekab , seems like a cute happy family.

(Your exif is missing. Please take a moment to read the Critique Forum rules.)

On a quick note:
-Your copyright text is way too distracting, it taking away from the portrait.
-I think the shot is struggling for balance. There is a ample space and light next to the gentleman, but the lady seems to have been pushed into a dark corner.
-And you chopped of his feet with ample space over his head.

Minor details like that prevent it from being a picture-perfect shot.

Good luck and keep shooting.

heheh. i also strobed a family in the park this weekend.
lol

nice image, i think NP (above) covered some good points.

one thing i'd change.. the branch coming out of their heads is very noticablable.
clone that bad boy out.

something i read recently was.. for family portraits outdoors.. give them separation.
you want to let the nature blend between them.
in this particualr image their heads are bery close together and its almost "wasting" the space available.
if you want heads close.. get a close-up headshot.
if you want full length, get them to spread out a bit.

dads feet cut off at the ankles isnt a good look. either inclue the fet or get closer.

other than that.. i think its nice great axpressions.
heres a lik to a thread i started for outdoor family portraits and posing

I'm no expert and certainly not qualified for a lot of CC but I thought I'd add my 2 cents.

I think it's a cute shot, I love the expression on their faces (although baby does seem a bit smushed)

I'd like to see a tighter crop. I agree with PP who said

I think if you crop tighter in on them and got rid of the branch sticking out of their heads, it would be a great shot and something they'd be happy with!
