Default I love you

This photo was taken with a Sony DHC-H9.
My daughter asked me to take a portrait of her and her boyfriend.
What could I have done better?

That's a sweet photo! I'm not much help here...been frustrated with my own post processing lately. One thing you might try to change a bit is the white balance. Looks a bit warm to me, but maybe it's the lighting? I'm sure somebody will come by and give you a better answer

Looks good to me. I'd probably crop the left side to get rid of the white area.

I'd have cropped it like this. It puts more focus on her instead of the side of his head.

I'll remove this ASAP if you want.

The main things that bother me about this photo is the actual kiss itself and the background. A more appealing pose would be for him to be just to the moment of kissing her without actually touching.

The photo seems a bit hazy to me but that can easily be taken care of in post.

I would love to see some planned shots of them as a couple. Keep shooting...

Your most welcome, and welcome to DPS.

I've shot a lot of pictures, and thought they were OK, then someone would show me a simple edit, and I'd be like.....why didn't I see that?

I've learned great multitudes here on DPS, looking forward to learning even more.

Your on a good start.

maybe if his eye were closed & his head down a little it would look more loving. also if you had your daughter look w/her eyes up and away... it would make an adorable picture... can't wait to see another shot.

I think having her looking up and towards him would have made the picture better than her looking at the camera.
