I took this shot of my friend's daughter while we were at the park. I'm making a habit of bringing my camera everywhere with me, so that I can build my portfoloio with more candid portraits. I am photographing her and her older sister this Friday and would love some feedback and tips!

You have some blown highlights which are very distracting to the image. Especially on her face. Better posing would fix that. Other than that nice composition.

steffiec, she is a little cutie.
I think the framing is good. But I wouldn't say that's the best angle for that shot. I would have tried a slightly lower camera position. And like Rex mentioned you blown-out spots. You lost all detail on the hat and her sleeve. Just wondering why you had your EV set to +2/3 on a bright sunny day, was that accidental? A spill over of the settings from the previous shoot? You probably could have avoided that with the right exposure settings. I also noticed that the focus is on her lips and the eyes are a little soft. Looking at positioning, the lips are in the center of the image where your default focus setting is. You may want to get into the habit of focusing on the eyes in a portrait shot (unless you intentionally want to focus on other things). Good work otherwise. Keep shooting.

Thanks very much to both of you for your feedback! Will keep in mind avoiding blown highlights - particularly on bright sunny days. I did also notice that the eyes were soft as I had the camera set to the center focal point, and I quickly took the shot.
I hopefully will get some beautiful shots this week!
