Default Engagement Shoot - Photo #2

I did an engagement photo shoot with this couple. I'm posting some of the photos for your comments one at a time. Please let me know what you think.

Overall, a good shot. I think it would be stronger if the man was hugging his fiance or holding her hand - anything other than his arm stretched down in disinterest. I also think that DOF is a little too high - their faces are not sufficiently out of focus (for my taste) to immidiately understand it was intentional, it looks a bit like it's a mistake, not intent.

You cropped out the top of his head, I think the composition would have better balance if he had some foliage showing above his head (about as much is above the woman's in the current photo) and more of the image showing below the hand. I would try to get the hand with the ring in the center of the photo.

If you wanted more DOF, you could isolate the hand, then reverse select to get the background and apply a gaussian blur.

I might also have posed them so they were turned more into the sun to reduce some of the shadows on her neck and his face.
