Very nice capture!!!

I think it would be cool (not that you need to do _anything_ to this photo, but it could just be cool) if you tried this: Photoshop Insider Blog By Scott Kelby » Blog Archive » Getting That Cool Gritty Look Right in Camera Raw and Photoshop or Lightroom for that gritty, Dave Hill effect (Dave Hill Photography )

Great shot!

Default slowly back away..

slowly back away from editing this one, don't you DARE touch it!!

It's AMAZING just like it is!!

You asked for critique on the lighting, the lighting is what makes the shot, no other light other than the sparks, it works perfectly!

Hey, that looks great, don't touch it, especially the footwear! To me, they make the shot, it's just so "Sub Continent" to see someone welding on the ground in sandals! I love it!

AnneWynne,
Thats a great effect. I use GIMP and do not have Photoshop/ Lightroom so will have to find equvalent method to do it in GIMP.
l.k.madison,
Thank you for the kind words.

villafane928 & Free,
Thanks for the comments. The contradicting views is why I love DPS. Thanks again for taking time to comment.

DONT TOUCH IT !

(apologies for overkill with the caps haha)

Awesome pic - Seriously, everything is perfect - composition, lighting, shutter speed to name a few. I would say professional quality (but I admittedly dont know a lot about professional standards)

this is a great picture. love the lighting and composition.

if i were to do anything different the second time then i might try to put a reflector behind the person so you get some light bouncing back and hitting the back of his head. that way you'd outline him and pull him out of the background a little more.

it's great as it is though.
