Default Newborn Help

This shot is from my first newborn shoot using natural light, Nikon D80 and slight retouching in Photoshop. Afternoon light through an East facing window. Is this light too harsh? Thanks

I like the shot. If you are worried about the light, I would suggest using a white reflector/card to the camera left to reflect the light to baby's head and thus enabling you to perhaps drop the exposure enough to avoid the highlights on the lower back.

The bright bit is a little bit much, but you should be able to bring it back a little bit on just that spot in PS.

The light is a bit harsh but not to the point that it detracts from the portrait. A sligt curve adjustment mught do the trick.

I think it's lovely, but agree it's a tad over-exposed. MattG's comment seems like a good idea.
